How to add Local Business Schema
In this article we’ll learn about Local Business Schema and how you can add it to your Website Builder website.
What is Local Business Schema?
In simple terms, Local Business Schema tells search engines what type of business you are, where you’re located and what you do. For example, if you’re a book shop, and someone in your local area is searching Google for book shop, then Local Business Schema will cause them to see relevant information about you without having to click or tap on a link.
Here’s what it looks like in action:
You can see I’ve searched Google for book shop and can immediately see the details of three book shops near to me, without even needing to click on any search results. All of that information, such as address, phone number and opening hours, is being retrieved using the Local Business Schema of those shops’ websites.
How to add Local Business Schema
Within your Website Builder editor, click on Content from the left menu and choose the Business Info option.
You should now see a page that looks similar to the following:
Fill out as many details as you can. As a bare minimum, we would recommend completing the Business name, Business Type, Address, Phone number and Email fields.
Other options available to you include your opening hours, links to social media pages and business logo. The more information that you provide then the more professional an impression you will make, and the easier it will be for potential customers to find you.
When you have entered everything in, click on the blue Review & Enable button near the top of the page.
As with any changes made to your website, the final step is to publish it, using the Publish or Re-Publish button in the top right corner of your Website Builder editor.

Congratulations! You have now added Local Business Schema to your Website Builder website. Note that it may take a short period of time before the information you have provided starts being displayed by Google and other search engines.
